“I've been skateboarding for 27 year and
I got my own set up for my birthday
which was an Eric Nash complete.“

Do you remember when was your first time to skate? / How long have you skated?

I've been skateboarding for 27 years, I started when I was 8 and my sister and I shared a board for half a year till I got my own set up for my birthday which was an Eric Nash complete.

“Skateboarding had taught me so much
and given me some of the best people I know“

Did you expect when you started you would still be skating now?

If I'm honest no, I didn't think that 27 years later I would still be doing something I love so much. It's one of those communities that is so open and has so much to give if you are willing to give as much back. Skateboarding had taught me so much and given me some of the best people I know. It's these people who have helped me through dark times and that's why I'm so great full for still skating 27 years later.

Where is your favourite skatepark and why?

Devonshire green in Sheffield as I have so many good memories of living there and having fun, beers and lots of banter with some really good people.

So what would be a perfect skatepark?

A mixture of Mile End and Devonshire green.

What do you pack in your bag when you go skateboarding?

I usually try not to take s bag so that I can be as free as possible but some times I take a small bag and in it it has just my essentials like wallet phone keys and tobacco, some times my headphones and sun glasses.

"I constantly never listen to good advice, I always seem to do the opposite and then learn the hard way…"

Any good advice you chose to never follow?

I constantly never listen to good advice, I always seem to do the opposite and then learn the hard way but it is because I am a stubborn person and have to do things my way, even if it means making a mistake.

What do your typical days look like?

Most of my days are very different but a good coffee to start the day and then most definitely a skate some where. It really depends on what work I have coming in.

What do you do when you're not skating?

I like to watch films and take photos with my analogue camera collection. Visit parks and have a drink with friends or go to one of the many free museums London has to offer.

“Having worked with Pat Graham of modest mouse
fame is a moment I have been most proud of and
being asked to do a second show for him
makes my job all the more rewarding.“

What makes you most proud of your work/job?

Well I'm a freelance gallery technician, I'm proud and privileged to be able to work with many different artists and help them see through their vision of how they want their work to look like. Having worked with Pat Graham of modest mouse fame is a moment I have been most proud of and being asked to do a second show for him makes my job all the more rewarding.

Who do you admire the most?

I have friends and family that admire, people who do what they want to or people who will see through a vision because it's what they want and not what other people think they should do. It's these people who have inspired me to want to do what I do.

Hidden Talent?

I haven't found it yet, it's very much still hidden from me (hahaha)

What's your obsession?

I'm obsessed with skateboarding even still at 34, and shoes. I have so many shoes. it's like an addiction.

What do you enjoy the most when you are creating?!

Getting stuck into my work and not realising what time it is, my work is fun to me so I don't see it as work. And starting with a blank room and in a day 2 or 3 there is a whole exhibition in place.
